What is the Undergraduate Success Symposium?

Given the increased attention on attainment of post-secondary degrees (not just “access), community colleges represent an important educational opportunity for students. While community colleges and universities collaborate to make the transition from one institution to another as smooth as possible, there may be potholes along the way. The purpose of the 2nd Symposium on Undergraduate Success is to examine the relationship between community colleges and universities through the lens of transfer students by bringing together faculty, school counselors, administrators, students from community colleges, and community stakeholders in a venue that promotes the sharing of knowledge and the building of a community of practice.

The symposium will incorporate current work, recent findings, and fresh perspectives on our three conference themes—Transfer Transitions, Creating Pathways, and Assessing Transfer Student Success—with a practitioner focus such that attendees will leave with tangible best practices that apply to their own student success work.
