Please join us to unpack the ways in which implicit bias impacts our work and lives as educators. We’ll explore the most current research which describes the ways unconscious beliefs particularly impact our young people of color and students with disabilities. As we uncover common origins of bias, we’ll also identify specific conditions in which implicit bias can flourish. Though we can never eliminate our own biases, we’ll learn meta-cognitive and procedural strategies to increase self-awareness and activate a commitment to fairness and transparency.

Please join us for coffee and networking at 8:15am, and then engage in an interactive and meaningful session with colleagues from across the region! Registration will remain open until Wednesday, October 11th. Space is limited, so please register soon at bit.ly/UmojaPD

If you have questions, please email Steph at pd@umojacorporation.org.

*IL educators can receive 3 CPDUs for this session.
