We are so excited to engage in a panel discussion with Dr. Robert Sherman, Jenny Sazama of Youth on Board, and Kuumba Lynx.  Sponsored by the Susan Crown Exchange, Youth Power = Stronger Identities, Stronger Social Emotional Learning Skills will discuss how youth empowerment aligns with adolescent brain development and builds life long impacts contributing to a stronger civic identity and community engagement. Youth are often seen as apathetic, yet many institutions fail to understand how to not only engage youth, but also how to empower them.  I hope you can join me for this timely discussion, as well as an afternoon of networking and art.

Our event will be hosted by the Weinberg/Newton Gallery.  Bold Disobedience is a group exhibition presented as a collaboration between Mikva Challenge and the Weinberg/Newton Gallery.  Selected by a council of 12 student curators, the exhibited collection of works demonstrates the myriad of social issues that matter to youth today.  This exhibition comprises works by local professional artists, as well as student artists from the Chicago High School for the Arts.
